Employee quits job after entitled coworker steals his commissions, only to be hired back as a consultant who gets to boss the coworker around: ‘It was brilliant’

One advice many people like to give to the underappreciated employees who quit their jobs, is to always keep the door open to the idea of coming back as a 'consultant'. Meaning, that if they didn't like being employed by a certain company, yet they did their jobs well, they can always come back as a freelancer and charge three times as much while doing the same work.

Even though that advice gets thrown around quite a lot, we assume not many people actually get to follow through with it. The odds of your boss rehiring you as a consultant after you quit the job are very slim, and usually, people would much rather move on than linger in the past. A boss who is willing to pay a past employee a much higher sum of money so that they can do the same exact work needs to be pretty desperate. They must realise they cannot survive without this one employee, so they would do anything to have them back.

That is exactly what happened in the story below.
